It was soccer that made the names of ancient civilizations obsolete. In the end, soccer is credited to many people who played it in their home countries.

It is believed that the sport was influenced by ancient China, Egypt, and Greece. The game is currently played by more then 240 million people in more than 200 countries. The history of modern-day soccer

Soccer originated in ancient China as a game called "Cuju." It was a two-team game that involved handling and kicking a soccer ball. This game was heavily based on teamwork and defense, and players were required to organize well. It was later popularized in Europe and developed into the game we know today. In ancient Greece, people played a game called "Epistyros," which used a small ball that was thrown by an opposing team.

What are the main types of soccer played?

There are four main styles of soccer: association football (soccer), futsal, beach soccer, and indoor soccer.

Association football (football) is the most popular style of soccer. It is played by two teams of 11 players and takes place on a pitch divided into three areas: an attacking, defensive, and neutral zone. Each player has a unique number on their shirt. Only one side of the field can be played at a given time. Any type of footwear, except cleats, may be worn by players. The offside rules are not in place. However, defenders can't handle the ball unless they directly participate in the attack. The objective of the game is for a team to score a goal by getting the ball past the goalkeeper and into the opponent's goal. The winning team is the one with the most goals.

Futsal refers to indoor football. Teams consist of five players each and there are no offside rules. Each goal is worth one point. Matches last twenty minutes per quarter and have five-minute breaks between each quarter.

Beach soccer allows for players to play in sand, instead of on grass. Beach soccer has become more popular because it provides a safe place for children to learn the game.

Indoor soccer can be played in a gym or stadium. Teams consist of 9 players each and there are offside rules. Goals are worth 2 points if they are set at least 10m apart. Matches last between 30 and 60 minutes each with 30-minute breaks.
